The subproject analyzes (anti-)feminist discourses in social media from an affect-theoretical perspective. Research focuses include the examination of affect and emotions, feminist media studies, visual social media practices (particularly TikTok), journalism studies, and ageing studies. The project investigates feminist strategies of affect mobilization, memetic performances, the representation of gender, age and other categories of inequality in media representations, and digital feminist activism.
